3. How do I store my battery pack in the summer?

Answer: Store your fully charged battery packs away from the insole or charger. Please fully charge the battery packs at least every 4 months.

4. Do I need to discharge and re-charge my battery pack prior to every use?

Answer: Discharge: NO, charge: YES because the charge status is unknown

5. What heat level do I set my battery pack to when charging it?

Answer: The heating level does not affect the charging process

6. How long should the battery pack be charged prior to first use?

Answer: Liionpacks: The charging process is automatically started and ended

SM+: The charging process is automatically started and ended

Max+: The charging process ends after approximately 13 h. Please disconnect the battery pack from the charger at this time

We generally recommend discharging / charging the device 2 to 3 times prior to first use

 

7. Where can Therm-ic products be purchased?

8. Are Therm-ic products also available for gloves?

Answer: Naturally a solution for cold hands is equally available. Please see here for more information.

9. How do I insert Therm-ic insoles into the ski boot?

Answer: Place the insole onto the floor and stand on it. Mark the heel area and follow the cut lines when trimming the insole to the desired size (36-48). We recommend initially cutting the insole slightly larger than required. Be careful not to cut through the Therm-ic heating element and the connecting cable drawn in the toe area of the insole!

10. What kind of batteries does Basix or Basix+ require?

Answer: We recommend the following battery types:

  • Alkaline Batterien, AA, 1,5 V
  • NICD Akkus, AA, 1,2 V (rechargeable)
  • NiMH Akkus, AA, 1,2 V (rechargeable)

11. How do I attach the Powerpacks to my boot?

Answer: Various options are available:

  • Use the Therm-ic Velcro straps to attach them securely to the boot or lower leg
  • Use the Power Strap Adapter on the Velcro strap
  • Use the Therm-ic ski boot adapter or the Universal Powerpack Adapter to attach them to the boot
  • Place them into a jacket or trouser pocket by using the extension cable (available in 80 cm and 120 cm lengths), or secure them to the hips (e.g. belt, etc.).

Please make sure that the Powerpacks are not attached to any smooth or loose areas for risk of losing them!

12. How do I dispose of the Powerpacks?

Answer: If the device can no longer be used, please dispose of it and its packaging in an environmentally-friendly way that is in accordance with current regulations. Do not throw the Powerpacks away with normal household trash. Instead, dispose of the parts at a collection site for electrical waste. Packaging materials are raw materials and can be recycled. For this reason, please recycle the packaging.

13. Can ThermicSole Perform be cut to individual sizes?

Answer: ThermicSole Perform is available in different sizes, making the individual tailoring unnecessary. Should you still experience difficulties, please make sure that neither the heating element nor the cable are damaged.

14. Can I redesign the hygiene products (e. g. ThermiCare Refresher) and install a 120 V plug to allow me to use it in the USA as well?

Answer: No, because the products have been designed, tested and approved for an operating voltage of 230 V.

15. Which heating models are suitable for my pre-wired boots?

Answer: Our system is highly sophisticated and the models are compatible among one another. Irrespective of the battery pack model you select, you will be able to connect it to any boot equipped with Therm-ic.
